Landscape with the fall of Icarus

In "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus", William Carlos Williams suggests the poem and painting "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus" and the story "Myth of Daedalus and Icarus are closely related in many ways. Ovid, Bruegel and Williams show how all three are related.

The story of "The Myth of Daedalus and Icarus" shows the meaning of human motivation and how the human mind works. Ovid suggests Daedalus and Icarus are being held captive and they are trying to escape from minos. Ovid creates this meaning by stating Daedalus cannot leave by land or sea but by air because minos may own the land and sea but not air. Ovid also suggests that Daedalus creates a way for Icarus to escape to safty. Ovid creates this meaning by having Daedalus make wings of feathers and wax for Icarus to fly away. Ovid then suggests Daedalus was aware his son was going to die. ovid creates this meaning by having Daedalus have tears on his cheeks when Icarus took off and giving him a kiss (possibly goodbye) and Daedalus was fearful of something. Finally, ovid suggests Daedalus was jealous of his nephew's skills and killed him. Ovid creates this by having Daedalus hurl his nephew off the temple due to his jealousy of the two inventions being the saw and compass. These are what Ovid suggests and creates.

The poem "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus", shows that life is complicated. There were many people at the edge of the sea yet, the big splash into the ocean was unnoticed. Williams suggests life is complicated and creates this by showing when someone dies, it goes unnoticed. Williams also suggests consequences to one's actions and creates this by showing Icarus trying to ecape and ending up drowning. Then Williams suggest that humans are selfish and creates this by making Daedalus think about and escape for himself and sending Icarus to his own death. Finally, Williams suggests life goes on and creates this by having Icarus die and Daedalus moving on with his life. These are what Williams suggests and creates.

In the painting "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus", Icarus' death is going unnoticed. Bruegel suggests that Icarus' death is going unnoticed and creates this by having the people in the painting not looking in Icarus' direction. Bruegel also suggests the mood is calm and gloomy and creates this by having the sun going down and its not a happy or cheerful moment. These are some of the things Bruegel suggests and creates.

In the painting "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus", Bruegel suggests the season is spring and creates this by showing the people wearing light clothing and the animals being near the water. Finally, Bruegel suggests the farmer having a larger focus than Icarus' splash and creates by having the farmer being centered and being the main focal point of the painting. These are the rest of the things Bruegel suggests and creates.

In conclusion, the poem and painting "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus" are closely related in many ways. Ovid, Bruegel, and Williams, show that all three are related in many ways.

Letter

Dear Mr. Gallagher,
I, am from Malden Massachusetts. I have always lived in Malden and I only speak english. As a reader, I enjoy science - fiction books. I like to read star wars books. I dislike romance stories. As a writer, I like to write about what books I have already read. I also like persuasive writing because I think its good for me. I dislike writing open responses and essays because I get headaches every time. As a student, I dislike reading however, I do like doing marking up the texts and dialectal journals. As a friend, reading is good because it helps your vocabulary. Writing helps you improve your writting skills. As a thinker, it is good to have ideas. It is also good to have questions, comments, opinions, reactions, etc. You should have asked us to describe us as reactors and how we react. Many of us have different reactions of different things. As a reactor, I react to most books as shocked because I am suprised to find out what happens in them. Sometimes when I, am shocked its about bad things that happen to the protagonist of the story. You should have also asked us to describe us as predictors. All of us predict many outcomes to stories. I like predicting because its a challenge to see if I, am right or wrong. If my prediction to a story is correct, I know I did a good job fully understanding the story. If my prediction was wrong, I know that I need to pay attention to the story a little bit more. Star wars books have all sorts of predictions and I like that about most books. I like how there can be more than one prediction. These are my thoughts to you and what you should have asked us to describe to you. Write soon.

Sincerly,
Yours,

Patrick malone
